The Odakyu Odawara Line runs 82.5 km from Shinjuku to Odawara, with 47 stations across Tokyo and Kanagawa. Rent falls sharply after you leave Setagaya. Sagami-Ono, about 40 minutes from Shinjuku by rapid express, averages ¥62,500. That is about ¥23,500 less than Machida, the next stop toward Tokyo. It starts at Shinjuku and runs southwest through Setagaya, Kawasaki, Machida and central Kanagawa to Odawara. The whole line opened in 1927.

Renters choose Odakyu Line apartments for three main reasons.

Many people want to live here. In a 2024 LIFULL HOME’S ranking, the Odakyu Odawara Line was the private railway in the Tokyo area with the most rental inquiries. Hon-Atsugi was its most popular station.

Direct routes into central Tokyo. The line ends at Shinjuku, one of Tokyo’s biggest hubs. At Yoyogi-Uehara, some trains continue onto the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. Omotesando, Kasumigaseki and Otemachi are on that line.

A wide price range on one line. You can pay ¥126,900 for a studio in Shimokitazawa or about half that in Sagami-Ono. You choose how much commute time to trade for lower rent.

Modern apartment building in a trendy Tokyo neighborhood

Odakyu Line Rent by Station (2026)

The table lists all 47 stations from Shinjuku to Odawara. “Fastest stop” shows the fastest regular train that stops there, without the Romancecar.
